5 Ways to Increase Lead Conversion on Your Website

 There are two reasons why you should have a company website. The first should be so that your local customers can easily find information about you, such as what products and services you provide, what hours your business is open and your contact information. The second should be for lead conversion. Your website should be an active tool to attract potential leads and then convert them into buying customers. The following are five ways to increase lead conversion on your company website:


1. A Well Designed Website

First and foremost, your website needs to be properly designed. A poor layout that is difficult to read can turn potential leads away. You want visitors to be able to quickly find what they are looking for with ease, whether it’s to contact you, read a customer testimonial, make an online purchase or discover how other customers feel about you.  If they have any trouble finding any of the pages on your site, they will get frustrated and just leave. This, obviously, will not help in converting more leads. You also need to make sure that your homepage and all other pages load as quickly as possible. If it takes more than four seconds for your site to load, your visitors are going to hit that back button right away.

2. A Solid Call to Action

Obtaining the personal information of your visitors, such as their name and email address, is the way you generate and convert your leads. A call to action should attract and motivate your readers to click on a link and provide their personal information on a landing page in return for whatever incentive you are offering. Keep your call to actions short and simple and place them towards the end of your content where they can be easily seen. Use language that is direct and that incites action, such as “learn more” or “download.” Also use urgent language such as “now” or “today.”

3. Encourage Social Engagement

Make it easy for visitors to locate links to your social media profiles and encourage them to follow you on whatever social networks you are on, whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or any other social network. Ask readers to like or share content on your website as well. If a reader sees you are on social media, studies have shown that trust in your brand increases – especially if you are encouraging them to engage directly with you.

4. Provide Something of Value

There are many competitive companies that are similar to yours, which means that you need to distinguish yourself by offering something of value to your visitors in order to convert them. In order to obtain their information, offer something that is free and helpful to them.  It doesn’t have to be a discount or a price promotion as this has proven to do very little to incent visitors to provide their information  They are not your customers yet, after all, which means they haven’t been convinced to buy your products or services yet – thereby making a coupon or discount worthless to them. .  However, you should offer a free eBook, a whitepaper or something similar.

5. A Privacy Policy and Terms of Service Page

Giving up your private information to a company isn’t something most people will do regularly. Besides offering them incentives to do so, be sure to have a privacy policy and a terms of service page that is easily found on your website. This will make your visitors take comfort and safer as they provide their names and email information. The last thing they want, after all, is to have their information shared broadly to other online companies, leading to a barrage of spam in their email accounts.
